Requirements for Webquest:
As you work through your webquest packet and explore the sources provided, think deeply about the events Adeline experienced and the events in her country. Try to empathize with both her and the people she encountered. These questions are not simple "yes", "no", or one word answer questions. Several of these questions will require you to connect this material to your own life and doing this may require up to a paragraph or more. Remember, if you do not have enough space provided in your webquest packet, you may always attach another sheet of paper and continue your answers there. Simply number your questions if you continue them elsewhere so that I always know which question you are answering!
Evaluation for Webquest:
Your score on your webquest packet will hinge on the following categories: relevance of answers, depth of answers, evaluation of sources, completeness of thoughts, and mechanics.
Rubrics are included in your webquest packet. If you do not have your rubrics, please see your teacher.

Requirements for Journalism Project:
As you work your way through the online webquest and answer the questions in this packet, think about what information or event mentioned in this book most strikes you. What makes you want to do something for other people or to try to make the world a better place? Using your webquest questions as a starting place, think deeply about this event and research your questions further.. Perhaps including personal stories (anecdotes) will help your audience connect and feel the same drive that you do. Perhaps more background information will help your audience understand what it really felt like to be in that situation. Evaluate your new sources the same way you did with the sources already provided for you in the webquest. After you have found the answers to your questions, prepare a two page newspaper spread, a website with a mix of personal opinion and links, or a two to four minute video clip detailing this event. Keep your audience in mind as you create your presentation. They will likely need more background information since they have not read Adeline Yen Mah’s memoir.
